Villages that have few latrines, or none, suffer from poor sanitation. People relieve themselves in the village, along the trails outside the village and, most usually, in the river.

To help change this, we’re building latrines. Where the water table is too high for traditional latrines, we will begin building above-ground latrines like those pictured in the last photo, which only lacks the seat, the walls and the roof.
